Avon - Storm-ST
------------ Incorporates the very latest bike
tyre tecnology ‘Reactive Footprint’ |
The Storm-ST replaces Avon’s Azaro-ST and builds on it’s
predeccor’s talents. Employing what’s called ‘Reactive Footprint’ (RF) technology, the Storm-ST produces a footprint that changes size and shape depending on the bike’s lean angle, growing in size the further over the bike goes. It means you get high grip through the corners yet in a straight line have a footprint which increases the Storm-ST’s lifespan. Avon’s RF Technology questions the need for dual compound tread, which has uneven wear patterns associated with it.
The wet weather performance of the Storm-ST is outstanding, thanks in part to the tyre’s Super-Rich Silica (SRS) compound. The extremely high silica content delivers optimum grip in the wet and dry. It also has the added benefit of warming up quickly.
On the front tyres, the Storm-ST benefits from Inverted Front Groove (IFG) that resist stepped-wear and cupping, ensuring smooth handling for the life of the tyre and improving wet weather breaking. The Enhanced Aqua Flow (EAF) pattern of the rear tyre also increases your safety and confidence in wet conditions.
With all this (together with many other unique-to-Avon technologies) it’s no wonder the Storm-ST has gained numerous approvals from the tough German testing organisation, the TUV. |

Avon - Roadrider
| ------------ Ideal for mid-range bikes |
When you rely on your bike as everyday transport, you want tyres that combine outstanding performance with long life; that’s why you choose Avon’s Roadrider. The Roadrider’s rubber compound is specially formulated to give excellent road holding year-round, while its carcass design provides a large ‘footprint’ at all lean angles. This tyre’s high performance credentials are reinforced by the fact that all Roadriders are speed rated up to 240km/h.
Another feature of the Roadrider that commuters in
particular will appreciate is its central tread groove, designed to resist the ‘white-lining’ effect that can occur when riding over thickly applied road marker paint. A large range of sizes means that the Roadrider is ideal for a wide variety of bikes, including more traditional types.

With its unique snakeskin sidewalls, aggressive tread pattern and low noise emissions, Cobra silently defeats all roads that stand in its path. Construction: Advanced manufacturing techniques used in Avon’s successful sporty Viper range have been adapted and applied to Cobra.
WCTA - Wide Custom Tread Arc - is Avon’s new tyre profile that gives Cobra a nimble characteristic once reserved only for agile race-bred bikes, all without disrupting all-important stability.
The Avon Cobra tread pattern has an aggressive tread pattern which features FFG - Force Following Grooves - to follow the exact direction of forces that are transferred through the tyre. These channels in the tyre’s surface significantly reduce irregular and advanced wear on bikes that carry heavy loads. Each Cobra rear tyre also features the distinctive snake’s head logo on the sidewall. Available in a wide range of sizes, incorporating fitments for Harley Davidson’s V-Rod, Triumph’s Rocket III, Honda’s Goldwing and Valkyrie plus some sizes for custom bike applications.

With a tread pattern designed to reduce noise levels to a minimum and a carcass engineered to carry heavy loads, the Venom-R is ideal for power cruisers such as the Harley Davidson V-Rod, Honda’s F6C Valkryie and GL1800 models; its size range also makes it suitable for some custom bike applications.
Because Avon realises that these bikes are for riding as well as just looking good on, the Venom-R has excellent handling characteristics, offering great cornering stability and the sort of neutral turn-in behaviour you need on a large, heavily-laden bike. Some sizes are speed rated up to 270km/h, yet the Venom-R also gives pleasingly long tyre life

Avon - Venom-X
------------ Ideal for long distance touring with heavy
loads |
Bikes that are used for long distance touring and could be hauling heavy loads need a tyre specifically designed for the task – that tyre is the Avon Venom. Special attention has been paid to the Venom’s tread pattern to ensure that it produces low noise levels, a critical quality if you’re going far.
Thanks to its carcass construction and tread rubber formulation, the Venom is what’s known as a low-rolling resistance tyre – this means it has long life characteristics and aids fuel consumption. The Venom is also designed to be very stable through corners and to give progressive (and therefore reassuring) turn-in.
Because some cruisers and tourers carry bigger loads than others, the Venom is available in a range of reinforced sizes. And some of the Venom sizes are available with whitewalls.

•Battlax BT-014 profiles were tuned by 3D CTDM simulation to achieve quick handling and strong cornering performances by securing the optimum contact pressures in all lean angles.
[Construction]
•Bridgestone applied the patented High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord on Mono Spiral construction. The effective material enhances cornering grip power, without sacrificing high high-speed stability and shock absorption.
Narrow Ply Construction
The revolutionary narrow ply construction gives superior cornering grip, optimum rigidity for quicker handling, and high speed straightway stability. This unique construction is used for the first time in Bridgestone Battlax BT-014.
Cap-and-Base Construction
The underlying layer controls tread stiffness as well as providing reinforcement and shock absorption. The grip-enhancing compound on top contains silica for all weather performance, tire life, and superb cornering grip.
Outside Bead Filler
In addition to the conventional inner bead filler, Battlax BT-014 employs the Outside Bead Filler. The New Generation Outside Bead Filler realizes the ideal sidewall profile analyzed by finite element method by giving optimum force distribution and rigidity balance.
HTSPC MONO-SPIRAL BELT (High Tensile Super Penetrated Cord)
Bridgestone is the first manufacturer to adapt 1X5 filament, rubber insulated steel MSB to Motorcycles radial tires. The latest technology gives following advantages to motorcycle tire; allows more flexibility than other types of the steel used by competitors, reduces heat generation, and provides stability without deteriorating shock absorption.
