Well, we were at it again, this time off to Melbourne.

Over three days in June 8th 9th &10th we held seminars with both Hospitals as well as riders and delegates belonging to the VMC (Victorian Motorcycle Council). This trip was a huge success,as we came away with several hospitals on board with the MARI Initiative. We can now boast being involved with the Royal Melbourne, Epworth, and the Alfred Hospitals and all their campuses. We are covering a huge part all the way to Wodonga on the NSW/VIC b order. Wodonga works closely with Albury Hospital. They cover a big area of the states Motor vehicle and Motorcycle Crash clusters.

On June 22nd 2015 we will be setting off on the Queensland Leg of our Australian Tour. We will be hosting seminars and meeting with motorcyclists and Hospital staff. Spreading the work of M.A.R.I and how the Dr Wings Volunteer Team can help riders that have crashed. We are leaving for Moree, then Roma, Emerald and Charters Towers before arriving in Cairns for the main event. Supported by the MCC of NSW and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers & Motorcycle Gear.com.au

More information will be uploaded shortly on this event.

We have been mostly supported by the team at BIG4 Discovery Parks throughout Queensland.

Monday evening the 22nd June Col Thomas hosted the first seminar of our trip to the Top. A huge thanks for that as well as for assistance with getting the Initiative into Moree Hospital.

Bundaberg Hospital Jumped at the chance to get involved with the Dr Wings Team.

The crew that turned up for the Bundy seminar were very friendly and it was hard to get them to sit down so we could start the talk. This is a good feature as communication is a valuable tool when working within the hospital trauma system.

Summary in short of the trip.

At the completion of the trip above, we had informed as many people as possible that were members of the public as well a hospital officials.Five states in just fifty days and over 12,500 K's traveled by the team. Explaining the work carried out by the DR Wings Bike Force and the MARI Australia program. Informing them on how they could get involved or donate to assist in the continuing good work done for all riders. Also during the trip people were able to donate directly to the two charities that we were supporting while on the road and that was MARI at St Vincent's as well as The Royal Flying Doctor Service Australia. This listing was up for a fixed time specified while we were on the road before it was taken down, This is how the every day hero site works. The total raised by the charities during this period we bare not privy to. About Us

The "DR Wings Bike Force" are based on the Central Coast and in Sydney. The Initiative was formed from members of the MARI team based at St Vincent's Hospital Darlinghurst Sydney. The team consists of members from the Sydney Motorcycle Club, BMW Touring Club of NSW also Members of the Ulysses Club & lastly the Committee For Safer Motorcycle Routes in the HUnter. Some of them have been involved first hand with motor cycle accidents and know exactly what a patient is going through or has cared for one that has been there before. All this knowledge helps others to adapt and get moving again quicker in both mind and body.
